Gemmell comes from deep in field for podium
We raced tonight in the Grisdale showdown series at Flamboro Speedway. The #3 APC Auto Parts Centres McColl Parts Dept car was quick in practice setting the 2nd fastest time. In qualifying we managed to set the 9th quickest time out of the 14 car field. The car was tight so we made adjustments for the feature. Gemmell would start to pick them off as soon as the green flag dropped. He would make it all the way to 4th when a late race caution would come out with 16 laps to go. On the restart Gemmell would get around the 86 for 3rd. We would put the pressure on the 89c for 2nd but ran out of laps. Gemmell Captures a Top 5 in APC race at Flamboro
Last night we raced at Flamboro Speedway for our 2nd United Racing Series race of the season. The car had consistent speed all day but with the field so close we only qualified 9th. In the feature Gemmell would have some work to do at a track he usually does well at. Gemmell would slowly start to pick them off one by one and was up to 5th when the 22 and 30 car tangled on the front stretch with 9 to go. Gemmell told his crew that he had no drive off the corners so he elected to start on the inside no matter what the top two cars did. Both the 52 and 89c choose the bottom as did we. We would restart 5th and manage to get up to 4th in a very exciting finish.
